F21 Mini Haul

150623_F21MiniHaul You know when you set your mind to do a bit of shopping and you are all excited to find some great purchases only to come home with one small bag. Yeah, that is how my weekend shopping went. I headed up north to the ‘better’ mall to get my dad some new shoes for Father’s Day, which I found at Macy’s. Then I hit up every other shop looking for loads of clothes that were on my to get list. And that was a fail. But I did find some things to treat myself. I went in to Forever 21 looking for some new workout clothes, but they didn’t have any at that store. Sad, but I did find some new sunglasses with mirror lenses I’ve been wanting since seeing lots of other bloggers post about them. I love these guys! I was originally planning on purchasing a white sleeveless shirt dress but I knew I would able to use this one-side slit skirt at work and out. I kind of regret not getting the shirt dress, so hopefully they have it still in stock next weekend when I over there. And lastly, I grabbed their bronzer in tan. It’s really nice and I get a lot more powder on my brush compared to the E.L.F. one I have almost used up. I think I’ll probably be done with this one within the next month. That’s my mini haul from Forever 21. I did get some ‘fitness’ oriented gear the last couple of weeks so I’ll be doing a haul for that soon! I got some really good deals on my new gym gear!! How’s was everyone’s weekend? Do any shopping?

An Accessories Update

When I went shopping the other day looking for goodies to send my sister and her family I wandered into Burlington Coat Factory in town. Even though TJ Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory opened at the same time and that Burlington Coat Factory is literally down the street from my office, I always forget that it’s there.

But it is probably the best place in town to buy accessories. Sure they have tons of clothes, but the way it’s organized, I don’t stay very long in the clothing section. I think I’ve only brought one pairs of jeans from there and it was on an end display. But back to accessories. They have lots.

I got these four necklaces in my latest trip. I forget the brand since apparently my cleaning fit yesterday also proceeded to toss out the tags. They are however were on clearance and in my favorite new metal: rose gold. The three smaller pendants were one set that I occasionally wear all together, but like to use the angle bar and plate more than the stone pendant. The oval shape one is pretty long and hits just right at my chest.

Which one is your fav?

April Fashion Haul

I actually bought myself quite a bit of clothes and accessories (along with makeup and beauty products, but that’s for another post) this month. Well, more so than the last couple of months. I didn’t go very far. Just shopping in the local stores. It’s really hard to find trendy clothing up here in Skagit without driving up north to Bellingham or south to Marysville or Lynnwood.
So I most of the items are just pretty simple. One of my favorite shops that I have to hit up is TJ Maxx. I’m incredibly happy they open up a store here. I find great products that I typically wouldn’t find in any other store nearby.
I brought this 90ºDegree by Reflex snake print fitness top and the toska black 3/4 wing sleeve top. The fitness top is a great fit. It’s not tight, but does fit against the body. And the fabric is that moisture wicking, so it draws all the sweat from your body. I really love this brand and I’ve have previously brought some of their running leggings. They so good and nicely priced. This top was only $9.99.
The black top is now one of my favorites to wear to work. I sit undernearth the air conditioner, so my desk is a bit colder than the rest of the department. Wearing longer sleeve is my best way to combat from getting too cold. I love wearing this with a skirt. It’s also long enough to wear with leggings.
One weekend I ended up wandering the local “shopping center” on the edge of Skaigt River. More than likely I went to Old Navy and Ross after a coffee run in Starbucks. I found amang NY red flannel top and the mesh black top. As you may know, I’ve been searching for a long red flannel, and while it’s not the long ones I’ve been eyeing, this one works. I stumbled crossed it at Ross. It has a waist tie, but I liked it better without it. I also found Mesh Black Top. I don’t know the brand since I ripped the tag off already, but still was lucky in finding this one. I’m planning on wearing it when it get warmer here, but I love the back detail with the open loop. It will look great over a shirtsleeve dress or over tank and jeans.
The last bit are two simple tops (wow, I just notice that I didn’t buy any bottoms…) from Old Navy. I really needed a new white tank top, but I only like the ones that cross in the back. I picked up this white tank there and it’s so soft. And I love the way it slightly flares out at the bottom. It’s quite flattering. And then I found this grey thin sweatshirt in the clearance section. Again, another top I wear almost every week to work. However I’ve have to be careful and not staining it.
Finally, I only got couple new jewelry. I found both of these, the delicate geometric rings and chain-leathered wrap bracelet,  in the clearance section of Walmart. It’s right next to the makeup section, so it wasn’t very hard to not notice them. I’ve worn them everyday since.
So that’s the fashion bits I bought this month. Kind of basic. Hopefully I get to the beauty, body and hair products I got.

Spring FabFitFun

Even though she had told me to be on the lookout for a special subscription box coming my way for my birthday, I was surprised to see a box at my front door yesterday. I had to text her right away to see if this was what she had sent over and it was! I’ve never gotten a FabFitFun box before, so I was quite excited!

There were so many goodies! Squeal with delight! Seriously. Included in the box for spring are:  Rifle Paper Co. Cities Coasters Set, Miracle Grow Gro-able See Pod (Came with a Sprout it App card),

Jules Smith Scarf in Watercolor, Cosmos Creations Premium Puffed Corn,

Orly Nail BB Créme and Nail Polish in ‘Cake Pop’, Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster Serum, OFRA cosmetics Brushs #11 (eyeshadow) and #20 (concealer/corrector),

Yasi Metallic Flash Tattoos, Merrithew DVD set “Intense Body Blast (and a $25 Gift Card), Vow to Be Chic Gift Card, and a Hello Fresh Gift Card.

I have to say this is an awesome subscription box, well worth the price. I know that E got a discount for this purchase, but even, you are getting a lot. I’m really excited to try the beauty and nail products. I’ll have to wait a bit, since I just painted my nails, but I might start using the serum as part my routine. I’m also going to try out Hello Fresh. I think it will be kind of fun to try a meal-kit.

What do you all like the best out of the spring 2015 box?

Spring Dresses: The Maxi

Since the weather had started warming up, I’ve been dying to wear some dresses to work. But as it is always, especially working inside and in an office, it usually cold for some and comfortable for other. Me, it usually colder then I would like. Thank goodness maxi dresses are not only comfortable, but more importantly, keeps my legs warm!

p.s. I really want the kimono maxi, but a can never keep anything white clean.

March Favorites

I’ve got a couple of March favorites. I had to think hard about these, but yeah, I’ve been going back to these guys a lot in March. Since I work out first thing in the morning, I’ve been needing some sort of pre-workout meal / snack and I think I saw either a blog post or video from viviannadoesmakeup about ‘Peanut Butter-stuffed Date’ as a good workout snack. I was having oatmeal, but I found it a bit heavy and I don’t think I was quickly digesting it before I head out. I really don’t have a favorite brand of date, but this is my favorite brand of peanut butter: Fred Meyer Brand Natural Creamy. It’s just peanuts and oil, and I have to keep it in the fridge. I’m really loving this quick meal with coffee on my drive to the gym.

Since the weather lately has been a bit bipolar here, my hair has bit too much volume for my taste. And since I use a flat iron on most days, I’ve been giving it beating. So after I wash my hair, I’ve been applying L’Oréal Sleek It Frizz Vanishing Cream before letting it air dry. Then when my roots are almost dry, I’ve been applying Gariner Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum to the body and ends of the hair. This combo is working great with my hair, plus using the Wen Cleansing Conditioner instead of soap and keeping washing my hair to only two-three times a week. It works for my hair!

My next fave is the Sephora Instant Nail and Cuticle Care. I didn’t think I was going to be using this very much, but since I’ve been doing my nails every week (and constantly washing them since there are people in the office passing colds around again), it has been a lifesaver of keeping my nail area from drying and cracking. I totally recommended it to a friend who cuticles were getting a bit out of control!

I’ve also been reaching for my Forever21 Blush and I’ve been using it so much that I no longer know the shade since it has rubbed off. So it’s a favorite along with my epicurean lip balm. I started reaching for that one again when the weather started getting cold again and I had to turn on the heater. Cracked lips are never good.

And for my fashion favorites, of course my new Wayfarer-dupe sunglasses from Amazon, but i also got a couple of tops from Old Navy that I’ve worn every week. I got a really soft grey sweater on clearance and a new white tank. The tank is a little different from all my other ones as it is a bit more relax and slouchy. Loving it!

And with that, I’m going leave you with my song that was on repeat, and still it, Pharrell Williams’ Happy. I just don’t know why, but it makes me want to dance. Maybe it’s the weather…
