This upcoming weekend I heading down south to Portland, Oregon to visit my sister, brother-in-law and my niece! It’s going to be a short, but exciting weekend seeing them as it has been since last Christmas when I saw them last. As I have always done the last couple of years, I’m taking the train down. It’s easier for me just to let someone else do the “driving”. I mean, I really don’t want to spend 5+ hours on the road with other drivers.
Since I’m only going to be there for the weekend and it’s suppose to be another hot and sweaty weekend, I’m only bringing the makeup and skincare that I’m been using since it started to heat up! I switch from my L’Oreal foundation to Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Dark and since I haven’t been wearing eyeliner (it just melts off my face) I brought my new dual mascara I got at Daiso. All my makeup are easy to bring along: Rimmel eyeshadow, Forever21 bronzer & L’Oreal brow pencil.
As for my skin care, its’ the usual suspects: Sephora matte moisturizer, face serum & Maybelline matte primer. All this including my tooth brush & paste, deodorant, makeup brushes, eye-care stuff & other bits fits in my Sonia Kashuk makeup bag.
Now that I’ve got my beauty care bag pack, it’s on to my overnight bag.
This past weekend, H invited me to tag along with her and her kids (three little red heads who will hence from now on be called the minions) for a quick trip along the Cascade Loop and a visit to Leavenworth. Last time I was there with a run a half-marathon and I didn’t have the energy or time that day to wander around. I remember going back the next day, but half the shops were closed on Sunday morning and I had to start heading back to this side of the mountain by noon.
Last weekend, after H and I dropped off her kids off with their dad and a bit of shopping finally tried out the Korean place that our boss raves about. And she wasn’t lying!
Inside G-Mart in Lynnwood, Washington, off of old Highway 99, hides this great gem! Cho Dang Tofu Restaurant part of G-Mart’s food court immediately to your right.
I ordered the Hotpot Bibimbap which has rice sizzling in a hot clay pot topped with shredded carrots & zucchini, sliced mushrooms, bean sprouts, sautéed spinach, a bit of ground beef and a raw egg. It was so good! Of course I had to pour as much as I can handle of the hot pepper paste (Gochujang).
It was the first time H was having Korean, so she went a bit safe and had the Kalbi (Grilled Beef Short Rib with Kalbi sauce). I was quite hungry since all I really had for lunch was a Starbucks frappuccino and a mini vanilla scone. So I completely devoured mine and most of the banchan.
Hmmm, I cannot wait to go back. If you are in the Seattle / Lynnwood area, I highly recommend you try this place. You are so going to love it! I can’t stop thinking about it!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fun and safe New Year’s Day. I don’t usually do anything for New Years. I spent the night before watching a bit of tv, chatting with my sister before heading to bed early. I know, I’m a bit of a party pooper, but driving in traffic to Seattle doesn’t sound appealing and there was only a small, local celebration here in town. So I pretty much spent the night rearranging my bedroom and then was in front of my computer, trying to get some work done.
This will be the second year since moving from my parents house and living on my own again, and with my student load finally paid off last year, it’s time to start on major projects and travel more.
Goal One: Start building my online freelance work. I mainly want to stick to invitation and stationary design at the moment. The ad in some brand identity and brochure design. I’m going to stick with print design, but first thing first, got to get all the software and hardware I need in order.
Goal Two: Travel more! and try to travel outside the USA. I hope to be able to travel to two places this year: San Francisco and London. A good portion of my income is going to be save toward travel. San Fran in March and hopefully London early or mid Fall.
and Goal Three: Lose this stubborn 15 lbs I’ve been having trouble losing. Every since my first half-marathon, I’ve been 15 lbs from my goal weight of 130. I’m going to rework my workout regime and meals. It’s going to be tough with all my other goals and life, but I know I can do this!
What are you goals for the new year? Do you guys have any major plans you want to accomplish in 2015?
…for reals. Starting at the beginning, my very “pregnant” lil’sister came to visit and I picked her up at the train station Friday night. I had originally started on a post while waiting at a coffee shop just 10 minutes away, but they came in early. So I set it aside, and haven’t touch it since…
